Drive to the other side of Kauai

...about an hour.

sunny 29 °C

We start out on the road heading down around the island driving through all the little towns on the way to our camp for the night in Waimea. It is an old time town that hasn't been built up with resorts and lime light. This side of Kauai is dry and dusty. Everything is covered red dust, it feels like the wild west all of sudden. We met some locals fishing along the beach at the mouth of the Waimea River. They love to talk about how to catch the best fish. As we are leaving they load us up with fresh plums and limes (yum).
